Chapter 1: Credit Cards

Action items:

  • Make plan to pay down debt. I don’t have credit card debt, so done.
  • Get annual credit reports, review, and dispute inaccuracies. I did this, and found out that me and my sister are consider the same person by Experian. We’re both lucky that we pay our bills on time. I still had her accounts, SSN, and addresses removed from my report.
  • Call credit card companies and ask them to increase my credit limit so that my debt-to-credit ratio improves. I called Chase and CapitalOne. Chase increased it within 24 hours. Still waiting to hear back from CapitalOne. Seems like this is only a good idea for people who don’t carry credit card debt.

Chapter 2: Banking

  • Move my other accounts from the old credit union to the new one, or to a good bank (Schwab?)

Additional to-do’s:

  • Move Transamerica account
